Spin the Wheel is a free random name picker: type or paste a list, one entry per line, then click the wheel. It slows to a stop on one entry, chosen with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, so every slice has exactly the same chance. Nothing you type is uploaded, and you can share the finished wheel as a link.

How to use this wheel

  1. Type or paste your entries into the box, one per line. Names, prizes, tasks — anything.
  2. Tap or click the wheel, or press Spin. On a keyboard, Ctrl + Enter spins too.
  3. Watch it slow down and land. The winner is announced with confetti and listed under Results.
  4. Optional: remove the winner, spin again, or press Share to send your wheel to someone else.

What people use the wheel for

  • Meeting stand-up order
  • Picking a movie
  • Choosing a restaurant
  • Game night turns
  • Assigning tasks

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is drawn before the wheel starts moving, using crypto.getRandomValues() — the Web Crypto API’s cryptographically secure generator that browsers also use for encryption keys — and the animation is then aimed at that slice. With 8 entries each one has a 1 in 8 (12.5%) chance on every spin. How the wheel picks a winner explains why that order is fairer than reading off wherever a free-spinning wheel happens to stop.

Make it yours

Open Settings to change the colors, the wheel and pointer style, how long it spins, the tick and win sounds, and the message in the winner pop-up. Switch the entry list to Advanced to give any entry its own color, a picture, or a fixed winning chance — for example 50% for one prize and an equal share of the rest for the others. Add a background or a picture in the center from Add pictures.

Running a fair draw in front of a group

  1. Paste every name once. If someone has bought three tickets, list them three times.
  2. Turn on Take the winner off the wheel afterwards under Settings → After spin so nobody can win twice.
  3. Press Full screen and put the wheel on the projector or share your screen.
  4. Every result is kept, newest first, under Results — use Copy to paste the list into a chat or a spreadsheet afterwards.

Save, reopen and share wheels

Your list and settings are remembered in this browser automatically. To move a wheel to another device, press Share to copy a link that rebuilds it — the preview image on social media shows your actual wheel — or use Save to download it as a small file you can Open later, pictures included.

Frequently asked questions

Is this spinning wheel free?

Yes. Every wheel on 123SpinWheel is free to use with no sign-up, no account and no limit on the number of spins.

How many names can I put on the wheel?

As many as you like. Above 30 entries a magnifier appears beside the pointer so you can still read the slice it is on, and the labels shrink to fit.

Can the same name win twice?

Yes, because every spin is independent. To make each entry win only once, turn on "Take the winner off the wheel afterwards" in Settings, or press "Remove this entry" in the winner pop-up.

How do I give one entry a better chance?

Either type it on more than one line, or switch to Advanced mode and type a winning chance in percent next to it. Entries with no chance set share whatever is left equally.

Are my entries stored or uploaded?

No. The list is kept only in your own browser’s local storage so it is still there next time. It is never sent to our server unless you choose to share a link, in which case the entries are part of that link.

Can I use the wheel on a phone or a projector?

Yes. The page adapts to phones and tablets, and the Full screen button fills a projector or a shared screen with just the wheel.
